WWE Main Event on ION
Taped on 3/5 in Albany, New York.

[Q1] A still dedicated the show to the memory of Paul Bearer. The opening video aired, followed by the pyro, and Randy Orton made his ring entrance. Michael Cole and The Miz checked in on commentary from ringside. Wade Barrett made his ring entrance cutting a promo. He said he attended the red carpet premier of his new movie. He put over how big of a star he is right now and set up a video that showed the premier. Barrett started to run down Miz too, but Orton slid out of the ring and attacked Barrett. He rolled Barrett into the ring and slid in to start the match…

1. Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett. Miz spent the first few minutes putting his movie over while shitting on Barrett's minor part in the movie. Orton stomped Barrett and tossed him to the floor…[C] Orton ran into Barrett's foot in the corner and Barrett took control for a moment. Orton came back with the 10 punches in the corner. Orton went for the rope DDT. Barrett slipped out and hit a mule kick that sent Orton to the floor…

Shore's Slant: Crazy commercial timing. I can't remember the last time I saw two commercials in the first quarter.

[Q2][C] Back from commercial, Barrett hit his knees in the ropes for two. Barrett went to the top, but Orton stopped him and hit the superplex. Both men sold the move and struggled to their feet. They traded blows in the center of the ring. Barrett won the exchange, but Orton hit a clothesline on a whip to the corner.

Orton ran his comeback and hit the rope DDT. Barrett tolled to the floor to escape and came back with a big boot for two. Barrett setup for the elbow, but Orton hit a powerslam instead. Orton followed with the RKO for the win…

Randy Orton defeated Wade Barrett at 16:49.

Cody Rhodes was shown walking backstage…[C]

Shore's Slant: Good back and forth match. I don't know if it did anything for either guy, but it was a good match. Let me tell you too folks, Randy Orton is over like a mofo in Albany. They went nuts for the finish and it wasn't a hot finish at all. Basic WWE hit your finisher get the pinfall finish and they went nuts.

Cody finished his entrance and Zack Ryder was in the ring…

[Q3] 2. Cody Rhodes vs. Zack Ryder. Ryder started fast and knocked Cody to the floor. He followed and rolled Cody in the ring, but Cody attacked him as he slid back in. Ryder recovered and went for the Broski Boot. Cody moved and hit a Disaster kick to the back of Ryder's head. He followed with CrossRhodes for the win…

Cody Rhodes defeated Zack Ryder at 3:05.

Shore's Slant: Cole tried to put the win over as making up for losing last week. Right, because beating Zack Ryder means as much as losing to Sheamus.

A video recapped Triple H challenging Brock Lesnar from Raw. Cole announced Lesnar would answer Triple H this coming Monday…Sin Cara made his ring entrance…[C]

Antonio Cesaro finished his entrance…

3. Sin Cara vs. Antonio Cesaro. Sin Cara hit a fast head scissors and then another on the floor when Cesaro fled there. Cesaro slid back in the ring and Cara hit a sunset flip. Cesaro teetered for a moment and then grabbed Cara by the mask. He tossed Cara to the side and took control. Cara came right back with a superkick and his sunset flip/powerbomb move. Cara tossed Cesaro to the floor and hit the far ropes for a dive, but Cesaro hit an uppercut. He climbed to the top rope and Cara ran up. Cesaro went for a super Neutralizer, but Cara reversed into a ranna for the win…

Sin Cara defeated Antonio Cesaro at 4:14.

Shore's Slant: OK match. It feels like this might be a WrestleMania match setup. We'll see.

[Q4] A video recapped the fatal fourway match to face Undertaker…[C]

A video replayed the talking segment between Rock and John Cena from Monday…

Shore's Slant: It's WrestleMania season and the shows not named Raw become really long infomercials for the PPV. I don't like it, but I accept it as an eventuality. My hope at this point is that Main Event returns to its former glory next month. Thanks for watching along with me tonight.
