WWE Main Event on ION
Taped on 3/12 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

[Q1] The opening video aired, followed by the pyro, and Michael Cole and The Miz checked in on commentary. Ricardo Rodriguez introduced Alberto Del Rio who came to the ring for a promo. He said he was going to show the people something funny concerning Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter. He repeated his position from Raw about being made in America. He said their comments can hurt, but they can also be funny. The video of he and Ricardo mocking Coulter and Swagger played on the big screens.

Del Rio said he had to get down to business now because he had a big opponent tonight. Big Show's music hit and he came to the ring for their match…

1. Alberto Del Rio (w/Ricardo Rodriguez) vs. Big Show. Del Rio tied Show in the ropes quickly and hit a backstabber that sent the big man to the floor. Swagger and Coulter walked out to good heat…[C]

[Q2] Back from commercial, Show worked over Del Rio's arm while Swagger and Coulter watched from the ramp. Show went for a powerbomb, but Del Rio reversed into a ranna. He followed with a seated senton for two and hit several kicks. Del Rio went for the cross arm breaker, but Show muscled him up like a father playing with his kid. Show slammed Del Rio on the apron and Swagger clipped his leg. Del Rio couldn't make the count…[C]

Big Show defeated Alberto Del Io by countout at 7:50.

Shore's Slant: Meh. Not a lot of match to consider, really. The opening video stuff was fun, but not funny enough to see a second time for those that already saw it on Raw. I don't know, they just didn't do much of anything with this.

2. 3MB (w/Jinder Mahal) vs. The Usos. McIntyre sported taped ribs from the Ryback and Mark Henry confrontation on Raw. The heels got some early offense, but the Usos hit a superkick into a splash combo for the win.

The Usos defeated 3MB at 4:07.

The announce team hyped Wade Barrett vs. Justin Gabriel and a video recapping the road to Cena vs. Rock II…

Shore's Slant: This is the first show that has felt like WWE Superstars that I can remember. Three meaningless matches and a ton of video. I'm hoping this is a temporary situation as WWE pounds the hell out of WrestleMania and we get to go back to the good Main Event format after the show.

[Q3][C] A video ran through some of the history over the past year with Cena vs. Rock…Cole narrated a video that showed Brock Lesnar's attack on the New Age Outlaws and response to Triple H…Wade Barrett was shown heading toward the ring…[C]

[Q4] Justin Gabriel was in the ring. Barrett made his ring entrance as a video recapped the altercation between Miz, Jericho and Barrett from Raw, as well as Vickie's annouincemtn of the triple threat…

3. Justin Gabriel vs. Wade Barrett. Barrett took quick control and hit his knees in the ropes for two. Gabriel escaped and hit a pop-out kick in the corner. Gabriel went to the top for the 450 but Barrett moved. Gabriel landed on his feet and ran to the far corner. Barrett clumsily hit the Bull Hammer for the win…

Wade Barrett defeated Justin Gabriel at 3:13.

Post-match, Barrett held the belt up in Miz's face…The red carpet video for The Call aired…[C]

A video recapped the Paul Bearer tribute angle…

Shore's Slant: A one hour infomercial for WrestleMania. I don't think it's the wrong thing to do, but it sure was boring. Thanks for watching along tonight.
