WWE Main Event on ION
Taped on 1/20 in Dayton, Ohio.
[Q1] R-Truth made his full entrance with Xavier Woods. Tom Phillips and The Miz checked in on commentary as Woods joined them, Damien Sandow cut a promo saying he was going to win the Royal Rumble…
1. R-Truth vs. Damien Sandow. Miz tried to get Woods to say he would screw Truth over but Woods wouldn't bite. They descended into arguing as Truth hit his dancing leg drop. Sandow sent the fight to the floor to cut to break…[C]
Back from commercial, Sandow hit Terminus (which is, apparently, the name of his straight jacket neckbreaker) and tried for You're Welcome. Truth fought away but Sandow hooked on the Royal Arch. Out of nowhere, Truth hit his finisher for the win…
R-Truth defeated Damien Sandow at 11:30.
Shore's Slant: Based on the back and forth and post-match comments from Miz, this seemed to setup a Woods vs. Miz feud more than it did anything else. Remember when Sandow was beating the hell out of John Cena? Yeah, me too.
[Q2] A video recapped the Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt feud… Backstage, Nikki put Brie over for being sneaky and knowing Bryan was faking the whole time. They half-argued about who was sneakier when Aksana and Alicia Fox walked up. Aksana and Alicia talked shit to the Bellas and Alicia acted like she pulled lice from Brie's hair. Brie slapped her hand and the sisters walked off…
Shore's Slant: Such a weak and flimsy Divas division. Not to mention, I thought Fox was a babyface. I guess nobody cares anymore.
2. The Bella Twins vs. Aksana and Alicia Fox. Aksana and Brie started. Heel Miz spent the first moments of the match taking babyface John Cena's side in his feud with Randy Orton. Brie took the heat and Nikki got the hot tag. Nikki hit her torture rack drop for the win…
The Bella Twins defeated Aksana and Alicia Fox at 4:15.
[Q3] A video recapped the feud between Orton and Cena…[C]
The Royal Rumble by the numbers video aired… Sin Cara made his ring entrance…[C]
[Q4] Alberto Del Rio made his entrance…
3. Sin Cara vs. Alberto Del Rio. They are still using the stupid lighting for Sin Cara. Del Rio dumped Sin Cara to the floor early…[C] Del Rio as still in control after the break. He tied Sin Cara to the tree of woe and dove in, but Sin Cara sat up and Del Rio hit the post between the second and bottom ropes. He followed with a top rope rana for two.
Sin Cara climbed to the top and Del Rio met him there. Del Rio hit the superplex for two. Sin Cara came right back with a twisting Samoan Drop type move. Sin Cara missed a top rope senton and Del Rio superkicked him for two in a nice spot. They followed with a stupid looking spot where Del Rio double stomped Sin Cara into the mat and then hooked the cross arm breaker for the immediate win…
Alberto Del Rio defeated Sin Cara at 11:59.
Shore's Slant: The last spot was stupid looking because Sin Cara had to hold himself in place for far too long. It made it look setup. Otherwise this was match number 398,292,591 in this meaningless series. It wasn't bad, but it’s damn near impossible to get excited about any of it either. Thanks for watching along tonight.
