WWE Main Event on ION
Taped on 11/6 in Birmingham, England.

[Q1] Michael Cole and Miz started the show from ringside. They started to hype the main event, but Big Show's music hit and he came down to join them on commentary while the cell phone video of the pub fight aired. Wade Barrett made his ring entrance and his hype video aired. He used the word "barrage" twice in the video. Bleh. The UK crowd was happy to see him. He started to cut a promo, but Sheamus's music hit to big boos. He stormed to the ring, but went after Show instead. Referees broke up the fight before it really started and everyone faced off into the break…[C]

Shore's Slant: Good opening. We got to see the Barrett video, which was needed, but skipped the Sheamus one because we don't need it. I also like how they are using actual storylines to make things happen after the one week blip of the six-man match last week.

1. Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett. The bell rang as soon as the show came back. Show was raging about Sheamus's attack. Cole asked Show if Sheamus might be upset because of the attack from behind. Show blew him off. Cole said it wasn't a fair fight. Show said it never is. He asked Cole if it would be fair if he popped Cole in the mouth right now.

[Q2]Miz calmed Show down and chastised Cole for going after the World Champion. In the ring, Sheamus got all boos for his offense, while Barrett got cheers. Barrett clotheslined Sheamus over the top rope and Sheamus grabbed his shoulder because his arm was in the ropes. He tried to get back in the ring, but Barrett hit a nasty elbow that knocked Sheamus back to the floor…[C]

Shore's Slant: Great mic work from the three on the floor. Seriously great work.

Back from commercial, Barrett pounded on Sheamus as the crowd started dueling chants with Barrett getting the louder chants. The fight spilled back to the floor and Barrett hit a elbow from the railing in a cool looking spot. He rolled Sheamus back in the ring for two. Sheamus hit a back elbow and then a slam. Both guys sold into the break…[C]

Back at 17:07, the two men traded the yea/boo punches with Sheamus on the boo side. Barrett escaped to the floor, and Sheamus dove on him. Wow. Sheamus played to the crowd and they booed mightily. Barrett hit a knee lift and Barrett hit a back mule kick on a kneeling Sheamus for two while Show marked out.

[Q3] Sheamus slipped out of the Wasteland, missed a Brogue kick, and took the spinning side slam for a great near fall. Sheamus ducked a clothesline and hit the Irish Curse for two. Hearing him booed like this is crazy. Sheamus went to the top, but Barrett stopped him and tossed him to the mat for two.

Barrett went for a second rope elbow drop, but Sheamus got the knees up. Sheamus stood and lifted Barrett for White Noise. Show said, "This is garbage," and left. Sheamus stared at Show as he hit the move. Show walked to the ramp as Sheamus hit the Brogue kick for the win. Show stood on the ramp and clapped for a moment before holding the title belt up at Sheamus…[C]

Sheamus defeated Wade Barrett at 22:43.

Shore's Slant: What can I say? Just a superb match and Show really added to commentary. This did more to put heat on Sheamus vs. Big Show than just about anything else I have seen. Barrett is a stud folks. I realize that shouldn't be news, but some people are still sleeping on him. He was great here. This is a must see match. No question about it.

The announce team plugged the hurricane funds in NY and NJ…A video recapped what happened between Sheamus and Show before the match. Backstage, MJatt Striker tried to ask Show about Sheamus and Survivor Series. Show walked away but Striker kept pressing, so Show knocked him out…

A video recapped the Brad Maddox saga, and the announce team hyped his match with Ryback on Raw…R-Truth and Little Jimmy made their entrance. Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal were out next…

[Q4][C] 3. R-Truth vs. Heath Slater (w/Jinder Mahal). The match was joined in progress. Slater and Truth had a short dance off that even the hot UK crowd didn't seem to care about. Truth clotheslined Slater to the floor. He started to follow, but Jinder distracted Truth, allowing Slater to hit a clothesline. A small "3MB" chant broke out. Slater distracted the ref and allowed Mahal to get a cheap shot on Truth. The crowd completely died as Truth hit his suplex stunner. Mahal jumped in the ring and hit Truth to cause the DQ…

R-Truth defeated Heath Slater by disqualification at 7:00.

Post-match, Jinder hit a high knee, and Slater hit the Smash Hit to leave Truth out…The commentators announced Hell No vs. Rhodes Scholars next week and showed a short video to hype it…

Shore's Slant: I almost died with the UK crowd in that match. Slater is more than competent in the ring, but this 3MB gimmick is the drizzling shits. The reason they gave for Drew McIntyre not being there was scouting venues for their tour. Are you kidding me? This was a good show right up until this match, but this secondary match is usually filler so no real surprise. Once again, see the Sheamus vs. Barrett match. You can thank me later. Thanks for watching along tonight.
