Main Event on Ion Television
Taped earlier in Charlotte, North Carolina.
[Q1] 1. The Wyatt Family (w/Bray Wyatt) vs. The Primetime Players. The two teams jockeyed for control in the early going, but the Wyatts managed to gain control off of a well-placed spinning heel kick from Rowan. The Wyatts worked a series of tags and power moves on Darren Young while Bray Wyatt taunted him from ringside.
Harper floored Young with a running big boot… [C]
Back from the break, The Wyatts continued their assault on Young. The Wyatts got several near falls, including one off of an impressive sitout body slam from Harper.
[Q2] Young finally managed to get a hot tag off to Titus O'Neill, who ran through both of his opponents. O'Neill hit a powerslam for a two count, but harper hit his discus clothesline, quickly followed by a running splash from Rowan for the 1-2-3…
The Wyatt family defeated The Primetime Players in 12:06 of TV time.
After the match, Bray Wyatt entered the ring and hit Sister Abigail on O'Neill… [C]
Ryan's Reaction: This was essentially a showcase match for the Wyatts. While they may not be capable of the flashiest maneuvers, there is an agility and ferocity to the Wyatts' offense that is impressive and fun to watch. Solid opener.
2. Nikki Bella (w/Brie Bella) vs. Alicia Fox. Nikki took control early and focused her assault on Fox' neck. Fox managed to take over and hit a beautiful northern lights suplex for a two count.
Nikki quickly made her comeback and hit a facebuster for the pinfall victory…
Nikki Bella defeated Alicia Fox in 4:49.
Ryan's Reaction: Standard issue WWE women's match. Both women performed admirably, but there was simply too little time to tell a proper story.
[Q3] [C] A video package covering the lawsuit video packages from Raw and The Authority's dismantling of the man aired…
Triple H's WWE.com interview covered how Kane is now the new Director of Operations… [C]
3. The Uso Brothers vs. Hunico and Camacho. Hunico outwrestled Jey Uso in the early going, but he showboated too much and turned around into a chop. The Usos took control and began working a series of quick tags to wear Hunico down.
[Q4] Hunico managed to scurry to Camacho, and the heels took over the action. Camacho did the damage on Jimmy Uso, and Hunico tagged back in after Jimmy was off his feet.
Jimmy got the tag off to Jey, and Jey worked his move set on Hunico. Hunico and Camacho ran up the ramp to regroup… [C]
Back from the break, Camacho was working over Jey Uso. The heels worked more quick tags as they wore down Jey.
Jey eventually got the hot tag to Jimmy Uso, who stormed the ring and hit a Samoan Drop on Camacho. Hunico broke the subsequent pin, and Jimmy scored a superkick on Hunico. Jey tagged in to hit a Superfly Splash on Hunico and covered him for the pinfall victory.
The Uso Brothers defeated Hunico and Camacho in 14:06 of TV time.
Ryan's Reaction: Decent tag match. Hunico and Camacho were impressive with their return, and The Usos were their usual high energy selves. Overall, this was an entertaining edition of Main Event. Both the opening and closing tag matches delivered, and the women's match was above average for the WWE division. Thanks for following along with me this evening.
