WWE Main Event on ION
Taped on 11/18 in Nashville, Tenn.

[Q1] The opening video aired, followed by the pyro, and Josh Matthews and Miz welcomed us to Main Event…

1. Naomi (w/The Total Divas) vs. Tamina (w/The Other Divas). Matthews told us AJ is calling her team the "true" Divas. Whatever. Tamina shoved Naomi around at the start, but Naomi used her athleticism to hit a dropkick and take control. Tamina came back with a clothesline that dumped Naomi to the floor and the two teams of Divas squared off without touching…[C]

Matthews and Miz spent the bulk of the match talking about how everyone on AJ's team except Tamina hates her. Tamina continued her power attacks on Naomi, but Naomi flipped out of a back suplex attempt and hit a step-up enziguri to start her comeback.

[Q2] For no reason whatsoever, the two teams of Divas attacked each other on the floor. Naomi and Tamina were caught up in it for a minute. Naomi rolled Tamina in the ring and hit a crossbody from the top, but Tamina no sold it and hit a superkick for the win…

Tamina defeated Naomi at 13:25.

A video recapped John Cena's return and feud with Alberto Del Rio…Del Rio made his ring entrance…[C]

Shore's Slant: A pretty good Divas match until Tamina decided to be Supergirl at the end. What a shame. I have no idea why the two teams attacked each other. There was nothing that set it off, they just started fighting.

Santino Marella made his ring entrance…

2. Alberto Del Rio vs. Santino Marella. Santino showboated so Del Rio kicked the shit out of him. Santino managed a kip up at one point but no real offense from him. Del Rio won with the cross-armbreaker…

Alberto Del Rio defeated Santino Marella at 4:30.

Shore's Slant: Classic squash match to put heat on Del Rio.

[Q3][C] A video recapped the Big Show vs. Randy Orton feud…A video recapped Triple H's position from his sit-down with Michael Cole this week that Randy has to win on Sunday alone…Kofi Kingston made his ring entrance and stared down Miz. Matthews hyped Miz vs. Kofi for the Survivor Series kick-off…[C]

[Q4] Fandango and Summer Rae made their entrance as Matthews grilled Miz about leaving Kofi high and dry on Monday. Miz talked like a babyface for the majority of his defense but said Kofi wanted the spotlight so Miz gave it to him…

3. Kofi Kingston vs. Fandango. The action went back and forth until Kofi knocked Fandango to the floor. He dove on him right in front of the announce table and looked at Miz. Miz told him it was good stuff and to bring that on Sunday…[C]

Kofi was still making faces at Miz after the break so Fandango dumped him over the top rope near the corner and Kofi smashed his arm on the stairs. Fandango focused on the arm for a while and then tried an AA type move, but Kofi landed on his feet and started his comeback. Fandango ducked the Trouble in Paradise but Kofi hit a crossbody instead.

The match spilled to the floor and Kofi tossed Fandango into Miz. Kofi rolled Fandango in the ring and Miz started jawing at Kofi. Kofi hit a kick through the ropes on Miz to get him away from the ring, but that allowed Fandango to roll Kofi up for the win…

Fandango defeated Kofi Kingston at 12:11.

Shore's Slant: Pretty good match and a good way to sell the kick-off match for Sunday. I like Miz's slow turn. I just hope they actually turn him this time instead of having him stagger into his new character like his babyface turn. Thanks for watching along tonight.
