Footage from past Survivor Series events was shown, along with logos from those events. The video package shifted to John Cena narrating his dilemma. Roddy Piper's words, "Don't you spit in my face, John Cena," were heard.

Cena's "inner thoughts" covered both ends of the spectrum. One of those "pondering" songs played, ironically with a shot of Cena pondering. The package concluded and the show began. Fireworks lit up a pretty basic looking stage. Michael Cole welcomed us to the show...

Ted DiBiase and Maryse made their entrance. Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker checked in on commentary...

1. Daniel Bryan defeated Ted DiBiase (with Maryse) to retain the United States Championship in 9:59. DiBiase controlled the match early on. He hit an elbow from the second rope onto Bryan, who was draped over the apron. The announcers noticed DiBiase's aggressive streak throughout the match.

DiBiase scored a nearfall with an impressive dropkick. Bryan turned things around and hit several kicks. He quickened the pace of the match. Bryan threw DiBiase to the floor and hit a suicide dive through the ropes. Looked as though he overshot it and hurt his shoulder.

Nearfall by Bryan after a missile dropkick. He continued to lay the kicks in. DiBiase regained the advantage with a clothesline that flipped Bryan completely. He tried to hit the Dream Street but Bryan countered. Bryan hit a back suplex from the top rope. Impressive. He earned a two count.

Bryan scored a couple more nearfalls before struggling to apply the LeBell Lock. DiBiase tried to fight it for a few moments, but was forced to tap out...

Twill's Two Cents: Good opener. DiBiase worked well with Bryan and the clean win is good to both establish Bryan and the United States Championship.

The Miz attacked Daniel Bryan and came out to the ring with Alex Riley. Miz cut a promo as a proud native of Cleveland, calling the Miami Heat mediocre. He said The Nexus and the Heat had a lot in common.

He said Wade Barrett may win the WWE Championship tonight. He said he did not care about what happened to John Cena. He warned Barrett and Randy Orton that he was tired of carrying around his briefcase. It wasn't a matter of if, but when...

Twill's Two Cents: Solid promo to set up the possibility of Miz cashing in tonight, but seeing him now makes me think we will not see him cash in later tonight. Maybe that is what they want us to think and they will go through with it anyway. By the way, the lights have gone out in the arena three times already. Hopefully they get that figured out.

Footage aired showcasing the Sheamus vs. John Morrison program. Sheamus cut a promo backstage and said he would break Morrison's body...

2. John Morrison defeated Sheamus in 11:15. Morrison sent Sheamus to the floor and hit a corkscrew plancha. Sheamus overpowered Morrison out there though and scored a nearfall in the ring. Sheamus focused his attack on the lower back of Morrison.

Morrison had a brief glimmer of hope after hitting a high cross body, but Sheamus rolled through, picked Morrison up, and hit a powerslam for a two count. Morrison hit an enziguri and turned the tides with two clotheslines and a leg lariat. Sheamus' strength continued to be his ally as he hit the Irish Curse backbreaker for yet another two count.

He set Morrison up for the High Cross. Morrison countered with a slingshot, sending Sheamus into the ring post. Sheamus came back and applied a half crab, but Morrison got to the ropes. Sheamus missed a brogue kick, allowing Morrison to hit the Chuck kick and a running knee for the win...

Twill's Two Cents: A lot of good back and forth between two guys with contrasting styles. Sheamus showed he can work on several body parts, although we don't need to see them all worked in the same match. I like that we have seen two clean finishes so far and Morrison, who needed to have a good night, did. Nice match.

John Cena was approached backstage by R-Truth. Truth said he had a solution for tonight. He suggested that "something might happen accidentally" to Randy Orton. Cena could count to three and he would be guilt free. Cena said he would not be able to look at himself in the mirror and reiterated he would call it down the middle. Truth said he would believe that when he sees it...

Footage of Kaval defeating Dolph Ziggler on Smackdown and saying he is "cashing in" his NXT title shot at the Survivor Series. I guess the World Heavyweight Championship wasn't to his liking...

3. Dolph Ziggler (with Vickie Guerrero) defeated Kaval to retain the Intercontinental Championship in 9:39. Ziggler grounded Kaval with a rear naked choke and leg scissors, but Kaval came back and hit a couple of sick kicks. He scored a nearfall with a springboard moonsault.

Kaval hit a front kick off of a handstand to Ziggler's face and it looked as though it knocked him out but it didn't. From the second rope, Ziggler applied the sleeper, but Kaval knocked him to the mat. Kaval flipped impressive through the air and landed on his feet. Dolph hit a rocker dropper for a two.

Kaval was catapulted over Ziggler's head, and he landed on the top rope and hit a kick for a two count. They did this spot in the Morrison match, but Sheamus pushed Morrison off of the ropes. Kaval rolled up Ziggler, but Ziggler countered into a roll up of his own, scoring the win with help from grabbing the tights...

Twill's Two Cents: Another good match. They could really deliver good matches with these secondary championships, so let's hope they continue to give them spots on pay-per-views. On top of that, I would love to see the champions focused on outside of the ring as well. By the way, why is grabbing the tights "illegal"? You can tackle a football player by pulling on his jersey or his pants.

Backstage, Jack Swagger said he should be the captain of the team. Cody Rhodes came in and said Swagger was pissed because he couldn't get into a club the night before. Alberto Del Rio came in and rallied the troops. Cody said, "I hate to admit it, but he's good." ...

4. Rey Mysterio and Big Show, for Team Mysterio (also including MVP, Chris Masters, and Kofi Kingston) defeated Team Del Rio (Alberto Del Rio, Jack Swagger, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and Tyler Reks) in a traditional Survivor Series match. Believe it or not, we get snow in California, and it is causing havoc. MVP was apparently eliminated and Del Rio made Masters tap out.

Big Show tagged in and knocked Del Rio out, even though he was not the legal man. He knocked down McIntyre and slammed Kofi onto him for a two count. Del Rio was being helped to the back. Rhodes was slapped by Kofi and threw a shit fit. He looked in the mirror on his jacket to make sure his face was okay.

Big Show knocked Cody out and eliminated him. Reks took down Show and the heel team worked on him in their corner. Swagger then applied the ankle lock to Show. Show tagged in Rey, who nearly pinned Swagger, but Swagger hit a big boot on Rey for a two count.

Swagger caught a 619 attempt and applied the ankle lock, but Rey countered out of that as well. Reks tagged in, as did Kofi. Kofi hit a frog splash high cross body for a two count. Kofi pinned Reks after Tyler missed a move in the corner.

Swagger countered Trouble in Paradise with the ankle lock. Kofi tapped out. Great way to make Swagger look good with that move. Show had Rey on his shoulders, but McIntyre took out Show's leg. Swagger then nearly pinned Mysterio.

Mysterio hit the 619 on Swagger and hit the splash from Show's shoulders to eliminate Swagger. McIntyre was the only one left, although Del Rio had not been eliminated officially. Rey hit the 619 and Show the chokeslam to score the win...

Twill's Two Cents: Fun, but frankly, a pointless match. Again, guys in this match could have used the win, but they gave it to Rey Mysterio and Big Show. Weird way for Del Rio to go out of the match too. Fun, but very forgettable.

Backstage, Randy Orton said he felt for John Cena, but he was not thinking about Cena, he was thinking about Wade Barrett. He then said Cena knows getting fired will be the best case scenario for him. He said tonight was not about 'Free or Fired' for Cena, it was about 'punt to the skull or RKO' for Barrett...

5. Natalya defeated Michelle McCool and Layla in a handicap match to win the Divas Championship in 3:41. Natalya hit a double suplex on LayCool, but previous damage in the match allowed Michelle to continue the onslaught. Natalya then successfully threw both of her opponents into the crowd.

Back in the ring, LayCool knocked their heads together. Natalya then applied the Sharpshooter and won the championship. Afterward, Natalya celebrated but was attacked by LayCool. Beth Phoenix made her surprise return to make the save. Natalya and Beth hugged. Beth then carried Natalya around on her shoulders...

Twill's Two Cents: Great to see Beth back and it's amazing we were supposed to take Layla seriously as a champion when Beth came out and obliterated her in a few seconds. I was expecting Beth to attack Natalya, but it didn't happen. Let's hope LayCool does not win their belts back anytime soon.

The Kane vs. Edge video package aired...

6. Kane vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship ended in a draw in 12:41. Edge rolled a wheelchair out to the ring. The announcers sold Kane being mentally jarred because Paul Bearer was not in his corner tonight. Kane dominated in the early going.

Kane screamed at Edge, asking for the whereabouts of Paul Bearer. The crowd even chanted, "Where's Paul Bearer?" The pacing remained very slow. Kane went to the top for his clothesline, but Edge countered with a dropkick to Kane's leg. Kane regained the advantage with a right uppercut.

Kane ended up hitting his signature clothesline and tried to hit a chokeslam, but Edge countered with a DDT. Edge charged at Kane for the spear, but Kane hit a big boot. He then hit a chokeslam, but Edge kicked out at two.

Kane mimicked the Undertaker by doing his throat slashing gesture. He went for the Tombstone, but Edge slid out and hit the spear. He appeared to pin Kane and was even announced as the new champion. The referee handed the belt to Kane though.

After an explanation to the announcer by the referee, it was announced that both men's shoulders were down for the count of three, so it was a "tie." Kane retained the belt as a result...

Twill's Two Cents: Not a great match. Very slow and Edge never made the big comeback to make it more entertaining. By the way, how lame was it that they used the word "tie"? They should have gone with "draw."

Afterward, Kane attacked Edge, but Edge got the best of the post match attack. He placed Kane in the wheelchair and rolled him through the fan barricade, into a place that conveniently had no fans sitting there...

Backstage, Wade Barrett sat next to John Cena and said it was in this building where The Nexus was born on June 7th. He ran down the events from that date to tonight. He reminded Cena what he was there to do tonight and he would be fired if it didn't happen.

Cena said he remembered everything The Nexus did to him. He said whatever happens tonight and when the time is right, "I know exactly what I'm doing." ...

7. Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater (with David Otunga, Husky Harris, and Mike McGillicutty) defeated Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella to retain the Tag Team Championships in 5:09. The heels beat on Kozlov in their corner while making frequent tags.

Kozlov could not get to his corner until relatively deep into the match. Santino made a comical hot tag. Kozlov knocked Gabriel to the floor. Santino set up for the Cobra but he had to get Otunga and McGillicutty off of the apron, allowing Slater to hit his finisher for the win...

The Raw GM had something to say. The podium and computer have been there all night, so you knew this was coming eventually. The GM reminded The Nexus they are banned from ringside for Barrett vs. Orton. If they interfered, they would be suspended indefinitely.

The Nexus headed to the back and the main event graphic was shown. The "What will Cena do?" video package was shown...

Twill's Two Cents: The music accompanying this is horrible. Cue your fake tears. You would have thought they would have spread out The Nexus' theme song.

No championship introductions tonight. Cena came out first, followed by Barrett and then Orton...

8. Randy Orton defeated Wade Barrett to retain the WWE Championship with John Cena as the special guest referee in 15:14. Black tights and boots for both men. Slow pacing early on, which is no surprise given that is isn't even 7:30 yet.

Cena called it straight, but both men took liberties with Cena letting them go. Barrett really grabbed hold of the advantage by working on the lower back of Orton on the floor. Cena counted to two for Barrett for the match's first nearfall.

Twill's Two Cents: If Cena turns, how will they explain him not counting fast for Barrett during these nearfalls?

The pacing remained slow when Barrett was on the offensive. Orton picked things up a little bit when he had the advantage. Barrett hit the elbow from the second rope and Cena nearly reached the count of three. Barrett followed with a pump handle slam for another nearfall.

Barrett hit the Big Bossman side slam for another two count. Striker referred to it by the name Abyss uses for the move, the blackhole slam. Barrett hit the Wasteland, but covered Orton too close to the ropes. Orton broke the count by grabbing the bottom rope.

Barrett was pissed and got in Cena's face. He shoved him. Cena shoved him back right into a RKO from Orton. Cena counted to three, although he hesitated on the way down with the third cadence. Orton looked at Cena with a shocked look on his face.

Cena ripped off his Nexus armband and joined Orton in beating off The Nexus. Cena and Orton remained. Cena grabbed the WWE Championship and presented it to Orton. They hugged. Orton left the ring and Cena remained. Orton had a look of respect for Cena.

Cena removed his armbands and set them on the mat. He then took off his shorts. No, not really. He looked around as the crowd half cheered and half booed for him. He saluted to the crowd. He hugged Michael Cole and a couple of fans.

He walked halfway up the ramp, turned around, walked back down and thanked some fans. He stood at the top of the ramp and received mostly cheers. They showed iconic "from behind" shot. Cena then exited through the crowd, doing a Cal Ripken lap around the arena...

Twill's Two Cents: That was both anticlimactic and a let down for the people that paid for this show. No pay off tonight as I'm sure tomorrow night's Raw will hype Barrett firing Cena and then they will give it to us in the main event slot. This was the least attractive of the options but they went with it. No Miz in the main event either. I'll have more to say in tonight's Members' Exclusive audio show.
