WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on Monday's WWE Raw: "The Monday Night Raw broadcast tonight in Knoxville could be very revealing as it relates to the Royal Rumble and consequently to Wrestlemania 26. I wonder if any fans will bring any anti Lane Kiffin signs. I'm really anxious to see how the (Vince) McMahon-Hitman (Bret Hart) issue is addressed."

Powell's POV: We're less than two weeks away from the Royal Rumble, so I also expect this to be a newsworthy show. In addition to the Bret and Vince followup, the company will likely announce new matches and some Rumble match entrants. -Ross on six-sided rings: "Another funny Q&A asked if WWE was going to go to a 6 sided ring in the future. I served my time on the ring crew many years ago and have since sort of moved on from that task but it was a funny question. For those to say that a six-sided pro wrestling ring separates promotions, I say that is awfully weak ground to stand on if one is looking to be different. The in ring product and the presentation thereof is what separates wrestling companies."

Powell's POV: The six-sided ring caught my attention for the first few times I saw it, but then it just became another ring. In other words, I'm fine with TNA reverting to the four-sided ring.

-Ross on his health: "I've got a couple of doctor's appointments upcoming to follow up on things but I can tell you that I feel really good and am looking forward to getting back in the hunt. I've always prided myself in being an old school educated, team player and that hasn't changed. I just want to 'play' and whatever brand I 'play' on will be fine with me. Obviously, I would be lying if I said I would not like a return to WWE's top TV entity Monday Night Raw, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't want to work on Smackdown again or even on ECW. Point is one is either a team guy or one isn't. I only know one way of doing things and now that my health is becoming less of an issue, I hope, I am anxious to get back to ringside or whatever role the future may hold."

Powell's POV: Ross had more to say on his health and his troublesome right eye. J.R. belongs on Raw. The Michael Cole experiment has been a failure and it's time go get the company's best broadcaster back on the flagship show.
