Jim Ross comments on the death of Eddie "Umaga" Fatu, and provides and update on Steve Austin
Dec 6, 2009 - 04:28 PM

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on the death of Eddie Fatu: "The sudden passing of Eddie "Umaga" Fatu certainly put a damper on the weekend as Eddie's death on Friday came as a total shock to me. Eddie had moved his family to Houston a while back as many WWE performers now base out of the Houston area and some of them actually are neighbors. Nonetheless, when I think of Eddie I think of the many, many conversations that we had over the years and how they usually ended up with Eddie talking about his wife and children."

Powell's POV: Ross wrote a lot more about the death of Fatu in his actual blog. He shared a story about the pride Fatu took in his son's football exploits and his love for his family. It's definitely worth reading.

-Ross on Steve Austin: "Heard from Steve Austin this week and had to give him a football update as Steve and crew are really working hard trying to finish his current film in the cold, outdoor environment of Vancouver by Christmas. Apparently, this film is particularly physically demanding and has a provocative, action adventure plot."
Powell's POV: My guess is that Stone Cold and Dwayne Johnson will be getting phone calls from WWE soon to see if they're interested in hosting the January 4 Raw show that will go head-to-head with TNA Impact. Just a hunch.

Other topics include Nick Bockwinkel, Sheamus, college football, and much more on Eddie Fatu.
