WWE and Syfy executives have had discussions about rebranding the ECW television show, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. The discussions include abandoning the ECW name and focussing entirely on new wrestlers.

Powell's POV: I'm all for doing something to freshen up the Tuesday night show, which just doesn't feel relevant most weeks. I'm over the ECW name issue, as I can easily differentiate between the original ECW and the WWE version but it really doesn't make much sense to keep the name alive since Tommy Dreamer is the only real throwback to that original.
