Jim Ross comments on WrestleMania 26 ticket sale info, Jeff Hardy keeping quiet, WWE on Food Network this week
Nov 9, 2009 - 11:32 AM |
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.
-Ross on WrestleMania 26 ticket sales: "This is NOT official but I hear out of Arizona that the first day of ticket sales for WM26 saw between 35-40,000 tickets sold. This is not WWE info therefore it isn't official. Might be a little low or a little high. But I'm guessing that it is close. As an independent business man and dealing with the economy daily, those numbers seem strong to me. I think the event is slated for approximately 72,000 seats. Perhaps the official numbers will be updated this week."
Powell's POV: That's a good start for WWE. They have a lot of work to do between now and March to sell the rest of those tickets, but I'm sure the building will be at or near capacity on WrestleMania Sunday.
-Ross on Jeff Hardy: "Smart move by Jeff Hardy keeping mum and not talking to any of the media. Jeff must have a helluva lawyer."
Powell's POV: Wise move by Hardy. He can do all the talking he wants to do after the legal work is finished. As for the lawyer, Jeff's friends have stated that he went from being very concerned initially to feeling confident that he can put this behind him without facing serious punishment thanks to the lawyer.
-Ross on his appearance on the Food Network: "Wednesday nite on the Food Network is our show with Chef Robert Irvine at 10/9 central featuring several WWE personalities. 'Dinner Impossible' should be a fun show.
Powell's POV: I'm not a big Food Network guy, but I'll check out the WWE appearances. The Miz also made an appearance, and all indications are that he was in rare form. Should be fun.
Other topics include a one-night Monday Night War in J.R.'s living room, an NFL player who would be a top star, Ricky Hatton on tonight's Raw.
