Jim Ross comments on the Iron Man match at WWE Bragging Rights, The Miz vs. John Morrison, and his own health
By Jason Powell Oct 26, 2009 - 09:40 AM

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on The Miz beating John Morrison at Bragging Rights: "Miz defeating Morrison mildly surprised me and the former tag team partners had a solid start to the show and it put Raw in a dominating position with SD having to win two straight which I felt like added to the underlying story of Bragging Rights. Miz can now tell the world that he carried the banner for Raw while the 'other guys dropped the ball.' Nice."

Powell's POV: Nice point on Miz being the only person who won the match. Here's hoping this pay-per-view turns out to be the launching pad for Miz to smash through the glass ceiling. The Raw brand needs news stars and new heels, and Miz gets as much heat as anyone.

-Ross on John Cena vs. Randy Orton: "I throughly enjoyed the 60 Minute Ironman Match and that was the match that I would have most loved to have participated in from an old school perspective. Cena and Orton rose to the occasion, in a physically demanding environment and told a magnificent story to bring the PPV to the close it needed. Loved the physicality and intensity as 'going the hour' is a challenging piece of business. Cena is unquestionably and obviously the 'Face of WWE' which is no revelation but was certainly reaffirmed Sunday night. Orton has raised his game to an extraordinary level and he's still not nearly as good as he is going to be considering his age and what lies ahead for the third generation wrestler. That's a scary thought."

Powell's POV: Ross praised both men for the match they produced. It was easily the best match on last night's show and it wasn't even close. The falls count anywhere stipulation helped out a lot and I enjoyed the pyro spots that kept things interesting during the middle of the match. I'll have more to say on the show in the Bragging Rights Hitlist laster today.

-Ross on his own health: "On a personal note, I am scheduled to get my MRI results late Monday afternoon of which I feel extremely confident that I'll get good news."

Powell's POV: J.R. remains upbeat and had more to say about his health and the Bragging Rights pay-per-view at his actual blog site. Check it out and order one of the BBQ product packs that includes free shipping at JRsbarbq.com.
