A.J. Styles comments on whether he intends to leave TNA for WWE, comments on his Bound For Glory match with Sting
Oct 15, 2009 - 02:22 PM |
TNA Champion A.J. Styles told Alex Marvez of Scripps News that he has no intension of leaving TNA for WWE. "My next career goal is paying off my mortgage," Styles said. "I just want to make sure my personal life is taken care of, and someday I can say I retired from TNA after being there from the get-go."
Styles also recalled the first time he saw Sting backstage. "I thought, 'Oh my God, that's Sting!'" he said of the time he was eating and Sting sat down at the table with him. "Now, I'm wrestling against him in (TNA Wrestling's) biggest pay-per-view of the year. It's unexplainable how big that is." To read the full interview, visit ScrippsNews.com.
Powell's POV: All indications are that Styles is locked in a long deal with TNA. Multiple sources believe he's in the second year of a five-year contract. If that's the case, then there's no reason to think he'll head to WWE anytime soon. Plus, he also had more to say in the interview about the pride he takes in helping the company grow.
