WWE announcer Jim Ross comments on his contractual status and TNA rumors
Oct 13, 2009 - 01:11 PM |
Jim Ross addressed his own contractual status and speculation that he could be TNA bound when answering fan questions in his Q&A section at JRsBarBQ.com. "Firstly, my contract expires sometime in December," Ross wrote. "Secondly, there have been no serious negotiations but WWE seems to want me to stick around and I prefer to do so as well.
"We'll see how the negotiations proceed. I am fortunate that I have many options that have nothing to do with wrestling. Time will tell but don't believe every thing you read about matters such as this." To read additional Q&A from Ross, visit JRsBarBQ.com.
Powell's POV: Signing Ross would be absolutely huge for TNA. He'd kill two birds with one stone by serving as the play-by-play voice and as head of the wrestling side of the company. Let's not forget that Ross assembled one hell of a roster while serving as WWE head of talent relations during the Monday Night War era. The big question, though, is whether he's even interested in leaving WWE at this point in his career, and only he knows the answer.
