9/29 WWE Smackdown taping in Boston: The 10th Anniversary show taping with a big eight-man tag main event (spoilers)
Sep 29, 2009 - 09:18 PM

Dot Net reader Dennis Fanning attended the WWE Smackdown taping in Boston and filed the following report.

Dark Match

1. Mike Knox over Jimmy Wang Yang in a squash. The ECW and WWE Superstars tapings took place after this match.

WWE Smackdown taping

New intro and new song!!!! Thank God.

Jim Ross and The Grish welcome us.

1. Batista beat Kane. Batista won via Batista Bomb. Not a bad match.

Backstage most of the roster was there for a party. Hornswoggle smacked Maria on the butt. CM Punk interrupted a Toast by Finlay and Teddy Long. He says Smackdown is under probation rules. Michael Cole yelled that it was Vintage Punk.

Vickie Guerrero entered and confronted Teddy with new boy-toy (developmental wrestler Eric Escobar) and says she is allowed back on Smackdown to manage him.

Finally, Santino dressed as Taker, scared Long and told him it was a great costume party.

Back from commercial, MVP invited Divas, random wrestlers, and legends (Sarge and The Iron Shiek) into the VIP Lounge. Zack Ryder wasn't invited. Shiek called Ryder a jabroni. Woo woo woo, you know it.

Next up was an amazing video tribute to Eddie Guerrero.

2. The Miz and Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston and John Morrison. Jack Swagger was at ringside. Ziggler's team got the win when he pinned Morrison.

Back to the party, Yoshi, Funaki, and Jillian Hall were singing HBK's theme in karaoke style. The Iron Shiek and Sarge bickered. Cole was drunk and threw up on Chris Jericho's shoes, causing Big Show to throw up.

The Rock's video message played. After a few bloopers, The Rock cut a classic promo ripping on Ziggler, CM Punk, and The Undertaker. He spouted off all the classic lines and guaranteed he will be the best guest host of Raw ever (I'm calling MSG in November) if you smell what The Rock is cooking.

3. Michelle McCool defeated Melina in a Lumberjill match to retain the WWE Women's Championship. McCool won the Styles Clash. Short match

Undertaker cut a promo.

Back at the party, Drew McIntyre broke up the fun. R-Truth jumped him. Teddy put an end to the party.

4. John Cena, Undertaker, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels defeated Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, and CM Punk. Team good guy got the win with Taker hitting the Tombstone. A hot match with the fans very into it. Cena and DX shook hands around the ring afterward. An awesome overall show!
