WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler considering legal action after being excluded from Mayoral debate
Sep 23, 2009 - 07:11 PM |
Memphis Mayoral candidate and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler is considering legal action against WREG-TV Channel 3 in Memphis for excluding him from Saturday's debate. Lawler said the exclusion "could result in permanent, irreparable damage to his mayoral campaign." The debate is open to the top four vote getters in a 400 person poll. Twill's Two Cents: I agree with Lawler here. If someone goes through the required steps to become a candidate, they should treated as an equal candidate the entire time and be allowed to debate. If they are going to eliminate candidates from debating, why allow them on the ballot? Why have the election at all? Let the people hear from everyone so they can make an informed decision.
