The New York Times covers Linda McMahon's bid for U.S. Senator, claims Vince McMahon is "best known as a ring announcer"
Sep 16, 2009 - 03:18 PM |
The New York Times features a story on Linda McMahon's bid for the U.S. Senate on Wednesday. "Her husband is Vincent K. McMahon, the flamboyant chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment who is best known as a ring announcer," reads the story. The story also notes that there is uncertainty within the Republican party regarding Linda.
"It is unclear among Republicans how seriously to take the McMahon candidacy," reads the story. "Many people agree that her access to money gives her instant credibility and forces other campaigns to deal with her. But at the same time, these Republicans contend, her name is linked to a company that has built its fortune in an industry known for outlandish and even outrageous stunts." To read the full story, visit the NYTimes.com. [Thanks to Dot Net readers Jeremy Nettles]
Powell's POV: Linda will never fit in with these people because politicians are obviously above "outlandish and even outrageous stunts." Yes, that was sarcasm. Vince is best known as a ring announcer? Really? Wow, the author really did some thorough research for this story. Maybe Vince should squeeze into one of Lillian Garcia's skirts next week and do what he apparently does best while giving them another example of an outlandish and even outrageous stunt.
