Batista made his WWE Raw return on Monday and announced that he is moving to WWE Smackdown. Initially, he teased that was saying goodbye. He came out to the ring with the protective device on his surgically repaired arm and indicated that his arm would prevent him from wrestling.

However, when Randy Orton came out to mock him for retiring, Batista removed the device and attacked Orton. Batista made the announcement regarding the move to Smackdown and then announced that guest host Trish Stratus granted him one last match on Raw. He said he would be facing Orton in a no holds barred match on tonight's WWE Raw.

Powell's POV: I'm surprised that WWE is taking a top star away from the Raw brand and sending him to the Smackdown side if only because Vince McMahon has been so focussed on the Monday night show. That said, it's a logical move because the Smackdown side is short on main event stars. With Jeff Hardy out of the picture and Undertaker only working a part-time schedule, the Friday night brand needed a top star to help sell house show tickets and to boost the television ratings.
