WWE News: John Cena takes some credit for pushing Vince McMahon to produce kid friendlier programming
Aug 24, 2009 - 09:28 AM |
The WWE's shift to kid friendlier programming scored a lengthy story in the Los Angles Times. The article features quotes from several WWE wrestlers and notes that John Cena took some credit for pushing Vince McMahon to make the change. "It's less of 'The Jerry Springer Show' now," Cena said.
Cena also stated that the Benoit family tragedy played a part in the switch. "That has a lot to do with how WWE operates now," said Cena. To read the full story, visit LATimes.com.
Powell's POV: So we have Cena to blame? Seriously, though, as much as I prefer the edgier product we saw back in the Attitude Era, the shift to PG programming has opened doors with advertisers.
