WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on a new WWE television show idea: "I would be interested to see WWE produce a program comparable to HBO's 'Hard Knocks.' No, I'm not Jonseing for 'Tough Enough' but selected behind the scenes activities at WWE events and the trials and tribulations of travel and all that goes with it would make for great TV. Some performers would likely be more natural in this environment than some are in front of the camera in their 'official' TV personas.

Powell's POV: I love the Hard Knocks show. Would the concept work for wrestling? I don't see why not. Great idea.

-Ross on a new broadcasting candidate: "WWE Women's Champion Michelle McCool makes her return to SD this week and did an outstanding job doing guest commentary during a Diva tag bout featuring Melina and Maria vs. Layla and Natalya in a match loaded with names ending in vowels. Perhaps McCool and Grisham would make a dandy broadcast duo some day. Michelle pays attention and has a Masters Degree which all bode well for her better understanding of the biz."

Powell's POV: I've never thought about McCool in a broadcasting role. I guess I'll have to listen closely on Friday.

-Ross on Harley Race: "WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race was at the event with some of his students from Harley's outstanding wrestling school. I feel like a kid (no smart ass jokes, please) around Harley was is one of my all time favorites. Harley said he had a great time, by the way, last weekend in Charlotte during the NWA Reunion. Harley told me that he had to avoid hitting the bar with 'The Naitch' for the obvious reasons.

Powell's POV: Ross also noted that former WCW wrestler P.N. News was backstage at the show.

Other topics include the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT J.R. is teasing for Friday, Donald Trump, and Brett Favre joining the future Super Bowl champions.
