Jim Ross reveals which current WWE superstar resembles The Dynamite Kid, whether MMA is just a fad, who the biggest star is currently in WWE, and what he will be watching this weekend
Aug 13, 2009 - 10:18 AM

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com.The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on Tyson Kidd: "One forgets how good Tommy "The Dynamite Kid" Billington was back in the day and how well the Bulldogs complimented each other. I was asked to compare a wrestler in today's market place to Billington and I suggested Tyson Kidd. Tyson has the chance to be special if he stays focused and continues to evolve which only will come with commitment, hard work, and preparation......like all jobs."

Twill's Two Cents: Absolutely. Every time I watch Kidd, I think Dynamite Kid and Chris Benoit, who of course was a Billington disciple. The sky is the limit for Kidd.

-Ross on MMA:" Before I forget it, anyone who honestly feels that MMA is a "fad" unfortunately comes off as badly as poorly executed, "wrestling comedy." MMA has tons of college wrestling programs, among other sources, from which to essentially recruit."

Twill's Two Cents: MMA is here to stay and as much as nobody wants to admit it, UFC pay-per-views are going to take buys away from WWE and TNA.

-Ross on who the biggest star in WWE is right now: "If you are wondering who the hottest WWE Superstar presently is in WWE, it's Jeff Hardy. As my late, domino playing friend, Ernie Ladd would say, case closed."

Twill's Two Cents: It is hard to disagree with that. Hardy is popular with every audience demographic.

-Ross on what he is watching this weekend: A little old school "wrestling war" tactic going on this Saturday as Spike TV will air the Lesnar-Mir UFC 100 rematch at the same time, as I understand it, as Showtime airs a Strikeforce event. I still have Lesnar-Mir on DVR so I'm watching Gina Carano.

Twill's Two Cents: Since I've seen Lesnar vs. Mir already, I will be watching Gina as well. Given that she is one of the hottest women on the planet, it would be hard not to watch her.

Other topics include who Gail Kim reminds him of in the ring, the college football Hall of Fame, Dolph Ziggler, and Mike Knox.
