WWE News: Notes on the release of Brian Kendrick
Aug 10, 2009 - 02:08 PM |
As reported in the Dot Net Weekly audio show last week, Brian Kendrick was released by WWE. He did not ask for his release as he did during a previous stint with the company. Rather, WWE VP of talent relations John Laurinaitis cited the tough economy and delivered his usual lines about the creative team not having anything for Kendrick.
Powell's POV: I have confirmed reports that Kendrick has been telling friends that it was implied to him that the only reason he lasted this long is because Pat Patterson liked him.
Kendrick has already committed to work indy dates for Dragon Gate USA and Pro Wrestling Guerilla. He lives near Universal Studios in Orlando, but there's no telling at this point whether he's TNA bound once his 90-day non-compete expires with WWE.
Dot Net members heard about this news in the Dot Net Weekly show last week. The same audio show also features details on a TNA wrestler who recently asked for his release. To become a member for only $5 per month, visit the Dot Net Members' Signup Page.
