Dot Net reader Justin O'Connor is at the WWE Smackdown tapings and is passing along the following results of tonight's ECW show.

Dark Match

1. Jimmy Wang Yang defeated Eric Escobar. Escobar cut a promo beforehand and got decent heat. Yang won with a moonsault.

ECW Taping

No opening pyro. The Abraham Washington Show opened the show. Corny jokes from Abe. Out came Zach Ryder to a smark pop. Ryder played to his hometown crowd and was hilarious. Out came Shelton Benjamin, who went on a PG-rated tirade by saying smurf instead of f---. At this point, the crowd was chanting "this is stupid." Washington asked them to each sing a song. They sang some Hootie and the Blowfish song. Ryder attacked Shelton. Shelton was trying to be a babface, but the crowd crapped all over his singing.

1. Big Zeke squashes a jobber with the Rock Bottom. Vladimir Kozlov comes out and Rock Bottomed the jobber. Zeke did the same. Yawn.

Tiffany was backstage. The Hurricane appeared to save a P.A. from oncoming equipment.

2. Sheamus defeated Goldust by throwing him off the turnbuckle. Sheamus dominated with restholds. Afterward, Sheamus grabbed the stick and before he could get a sentence out, Goldust attacked him. A melee ensues right in front of me before it is broken up.

Tommy cut a backstage promo putting over the ECW Title. Christian was shown carrying a car door to the ring.

3. Christian defeated Tommy Dreamer in an Extreme Rules to retain the ECW Title. The ring crew brought out a ton of weapons to a big pop. Dreamer brought a hot dog stand to ringside. We want tables chants right away. A lot of early plunder. Christian hit his finish on the car door to win. A ton of plunder that had the crowd red hot. That won't be for everyone, but this is one of the top ECW matches of the year.
