WWE World Champion C.M. Punk discusses his Night of Champions PPV match against Jeff Hardy and his heel turn
Jul 24, 2009 - 03:25 PM |
C.M. Punk discussed upcoming Night of Champions pay-per-view match with Jeff Hardy during an interview with The Mirror. "I think styles make fights and Jeff's high-flying and my more ground based submission style deal makes an exciting match, but on top of that there's also a burning personal issue between us, so it's definitely one to look out for," Punk said.
Punk also discussed his heel turn and the similarities between his Ring of Honor persona. "Well, with old is new and there's a billion people out there who have never seen the old CM Punk so it's exciting again," he said. "I'm the kinda guy who gets bored real easy so it's great to do something a little different to what I've been doing for the last three years. I'm definitely excited." Powell's POV: Punk went in and out of character during the interview. For instance, he was asked whether this will be Hardy's final match before his contract expires, and Punk answered that he wasn't sure but if it will be Hardy's final WWE match it's probably because he's going to kick his ass.
