Dot Net WWE News - The latest buzz on Jeff Hardy's contractual status with WWE
Jul 9, 2009 - 02:35 PM

WWE officials are still working under the impression that Jeff Hardy will be taking time off when his contract expires. Hardy stated in a recent interview that his deal expires in a few weeks and that he hasn't made up his mind about whether he's re-sign. However, he is giving his coworkers the impression that he will be taking time away. Although plans could change, the belief among sources is that he will let his contract expire and take time off.

Powell's POV: WWE officials have spoken to Hardy about working out a short-term deal, presumably through the SummerSlam pay-per-view. The feeling among Jeff's peers is that he would be wise to sign through SummerSlam - assuming he hasn't already - if only to get the big payoff that comes from appearing on one of WWE's big four pay-per-views.

Although other wrestlers have complained about the pay-per-view payoffs they received on their way out the door, the big difference in Jeff's case is that he's not jumping to another company. WWE officials clearly want Hardy to come back, so I'd be shocked if he were given a disappointing payoff for working the SummerSlam show.
