Jim Ross comments on the performance of The Million Dollar Man, proposes another trade, offers advice to Matt Hardy
Jul 7, 2009 - 10:25 AM

-Ross on Ted DiBiase Sr.'s performance on Raw: "The Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase, came off as the shining star of the program in my view. MDM was a new face/voice and add a fresh element to the show that worked for me. Every weekly, episodic TV broadcast, including and especially a wrestling show needs 'new' and DiBiase provided 'new.' DiBiase's promos felt natural and on point. Give the man some bullet points and turn him loose. Good, verbal stuff all night from Teddy....hey, I've known him since day one and I can call him Teddy if I choose."

Powell's POV: The next time WWE opts to hire a general manager for the Raw show, I would hope that DiBiase's name would be at the top of the list. There's still plenty they could do with him and the Legacy faction, and he proved last night that he's still a world class talker.

-Ross on a trade he'd like to see: "Can Carlito and Primo grow and evolve on the same TV show without it always being about the two of them at odds? My suggestion would be to do another trade and move one of them off Raw and to another brand. Can Primo become the 'next Eddy Guerrero?' That might be challenging."

Powell's POV: I was just starting to enjoy these two as a team when they opted to have Carlito turn on his brother. It's amazing what working with a good heel team can do for a babyface duo. Consider this is my weekly pitch for more tag teams in WWE.

-Ross on Matt Hardy: "Matt Hardy has had surgery according to Matt Hardy so I guess we won't be seeing Matt on SD for a few weeks. Matt needs some good luck and a few main event ops. My advice to Matt is to rely on your instincts, Twitter your ass off while you are on the mend, come back with the mindset that no one is better, don't date any more Divas, and do not use one, Dr. Heiney. I'm just saying."

Powell's POV: Hilarious advice from J.R. Here's hoping Matt bounces back quickly from surgery. It's a shame he never got a chance to shine on Raw because he was limited by the hand injury, but I think he'll be a great fit on the Friday night show.

Other topics include Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir, Jerry Lawler running for mayor, MVP and Jack Swagger.
