FX Networks President-General Manager John Landgraf told Broadcasting and Cable last week that his network needs a sports franchise to compete with other cable networks in the ratings. Powell's POV: The author of the article listed pro wrestling among the possibilities. When WWE switched to MyNetwork TV last year, a WWE source explained that there was at least a possibility that a strong performance on the network could lead to Smackdown being moved to another FOX owned network if MyNetwork TV failed. The network is still hanging on, but it's conceivable that WWE could end up on FX at some point, especially if Landgraf is open to such a move.
