Prosecutors drop charges against former WWE wrestler Brian Blair
Jul 2, 2009 - 11:45 AM

Florida prosecutors dropped all charges against former WWE wrestler Brian Blair, who worked with Jim Brunzell as part of the Killer Bees tag team. Blair had been charged with child abuse following a 4:00 a.m. fight with his 17 and 14 year-old sons on Father's Day.

A Tampa Tribune story notes that prosecutors felt that Blair could argue he was only disciplining his sons for breaking their curfew, as Florida law allows parents to discipline their children as long as it's not excessive. You can read the story by clicking here.

Powell's POV: The story also notes that while the kids had "minor bruises and injuries," while Blair was bleeding from his earlobe and had a swollen face. I'm sure there will be plenty of complaints from readers who say Blair got off easy because of his political connections from his run as a city commissioner, but his friends have defended him by saying that the older son has been out of control lately and Blair's actions were justifiable.
