Taz comments on whether he'll return to the ring, says it bothered him that WWE Tough Enough contestants got a chance to "slide into WWE," hints that his noncompete has expired
Jul 1, 2009 - 01:17 PM

Taz answered fan questions in his latest Facebook update and was asked whether he would return to the ring if TNA made him a huge sum of money for one match. "No," Taz wrote. "I will say it again and again and again...I am D O N E."

Taz was also asked about his experience as a trainer on Tough Enough. "My first thoughts on TE 1 were that these frigging kids were lucky as shit to get a chance to slide into the WWE without breaking a finger nail and there is a gigantic list of guys like me who busted their ass and neck (literally in my case) to get into the WWE," Taz wrote.

"So that pissed me off that they had it so easy and WWE knew that I was bitter and exploited that which makes for good TV! Al Snow was good cop and I was bad cop...wasn't an act at all. What didn't air was all the butting of heads that Al and I did which also wasn't an act.

"It drove me nuts that Al could be so lax with these kids because he (Al Snow) came up the hard way and earned his stripes and was patience with them and I was a maniac! But I've always respected Al and still do." To read the full post with additional comments on Batista and his own transition to broadcasting, visit Taz's Facebook page.

Powell's POV: They say everyone has a price, but Taz has been adamantly opposed whenever someone brings up the idea of him returning to the ring. Good for him given his neck problems. I enjoyed Tough Enough. It didn't bother me that the contestants were given a chance to slide into WWE, though. It was a fun concept and I knew the winners would eventually have to earn their keep once they made it to the big show.

In related news, Taz also posted the following line at the end of his blog: "BTW-freedom." We can only assume this means his WWE noncompete clause has expired, meaning he's free to work for TNA. Unfortunately, the company just finished taping several weeks of television. The next time the cameras are scheduled to be present at a TNA event is the July 19 Victory Road pay-per-view.
