Jim Ross comments on the new look of the WWE rosters following the 15-man trade
Jul 1, 2009 - 09:16 AM |
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.
-Ross on the new ECW: "ECW is going to be a mix of a handful of vets mixxing it up with several rookies. WWE has many, talented youngsters who will make ECW their home for the foreseeable future. This show will showcase their ever improving skills with some talents winning, some losing and all of them improving. That's the goal. Got a feeling this show will be feast or famine with no lack of effort."
Powell's POV: I was concerned about how bare the ECW cupboard was after the trade on Monday night, but it was really cool to see the influx of new talent. The jury is still out on all the wrestlers who debuted, but it's always fun to see fresh faces.
-Ross on the new Smackdown roster: "SD did well in the draft. It was easy to see it in tonight's locker room. The Hart Dynasty adds ready to rock youth and heritage. Finlay adds a veteran who can have a good match with most anyone as he did with Ricky Ortiz, who learned from the 'Quiet Man.'"
Powell's POV: I'm surprised they didn't keep Finlay on ECW to work with all the new talent that was introduced on Tuesday night. That said, Smackdown looks better than ever coming off the big trade.
-Ross on the new mix of talent: "I know we need to give this new mix of talent a chance and no verdict is deserved for a few weeks. New talents need to be elevated and new main events need to be created immediately which seems to be the long term goal. I'm as anxious as any other fan to see how all this works out. Quite simply time will tell."
Powell's POV: I had some fun at Tiffany's expense because they made her look really bad by having her brand give up so much and not get as much in return in the big trade. She still looks bad because of the storyline trade, but I'm happy to see new faces popping up on the Tuesday night show, and there's no denying that the Raw and Smackdown shows are bother better because of the trade.
