WWE executive asked to name the top three performers, comments on the difference between WWE and TNA
Jun 29, 2009 - 01:41 PM

WWE executive Andrew Whitaker danced around answering a IndianTevlevision.com question regarding whom the top three performers in WWE are. "The great thing about WWE Superstars and Divas is that they each hold a different appeal for different fans," Whitaker said. "While one fan will follow Rey Mysterio or John Cena, another will be a Jeff Hardy supporter. WWE offers something for everyone and that diversity comes to life at live events just by observing the amount of different WWE Superstar signs that are being held and merchandise worn by the fans."

Whitaker was also asked about TNA as competition to WWE. "WWE is a significant force within entertainment and pop culture," he said. "Within our specific entertainment genre, we clearly are the industry leader. While TNA is pro-wrestling, WWE is entertainment." To read the full interview, visit IndianTelevision.com.

Powell's POV: I love the diplomatic answer regarding the top three superstars in WWE. You can't blame the guy, though, as it's not worth ruffling feathers. As for TNA vs. WWE, that's a standard WWE answer. Sadly, I know many fans who wish WWE would stop trying to avoid the pro wrestling label. I guess they just feel the "entertainment" label plays better in the corporate world even though everyone views them as pro wrestling.
