WWE Raw rating: Donald Trump and the commercial-free stunt score big in the ratings
Jun 23, 2009 - 04:57 PM |
Monday's WWE Raw drew a 4.5 rating, which is up from last week's 3.7 rating for the three-hour broadcast (the traditional two hours scored a 3.9 rating). The first hour scored a 4.2 rating with 6.3 million viewers, while the second hour shot up to a 4.8 rating with 7.3 million viewers.
Powell's POV: The publicity stunt paid off for WWE. Well, as much as holding a show without commercials and no box office money can "pay" off. In comparison, the second hour of last week's show drew a 4.1 rating. I'm guessing we haven't seen the last of Donald Trump given the big ratings boost. Obviously, the commercial-free aspect was part of the rating success, but it's not like they can take that approach on a regular basis.
