Dot Net reader Jonathan Nave attended the WWE Smackdown taping in Biloxi, Miss. and passed along the following report.

New World Hvt. Champion C.M. Punk came out for a promo and received a mixed reaction from the crowd. He said he capitalized on the opportunity instead of "stealing" it. He was a babyface throughout the promo and said he'll bring honor, integrity, and respect back to the title.

Jeff Hardy came out and said Punk didn't "earn" it. Punk said Hardy needs to understand his situation. Hardy says he's selfish. Hardy added that he wants his rematch tonight. Edge came out and said he wants a rematch. He said Punk wants to be him. Hardy attacked Edge and Punk. Hardy hit the Swanton on Punk while Edge fell outside.

Teddy Long came out and announced that Edge would face Hardy in the Smackdown main event, and the winner would challenge Punk on Monday's WWE Raw three-for-all show.Teddy and Chris Jericho talked backstage. Jericho said he wants in the world title hunt. Teddy said okay, but said he would be facing Punk in a non-title match later in the show.

1. Dolph Ziggler defeated Great Khali via countout.

2. Michelle McCool and Lalya defeated Melina and Eve.

3. John Morrison and R-Truth defeated Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.

Jericho cut a promo. He said he "saved" Mysterio by unmasking him. Nave's POV: Jericho's tights and boots are bejeweled nicely.

4. CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho in a champion vs. champion match. Punk won the non-title match clean with the GTS.

5. Ricky Ortiz defeated Jimmy Wang Yang.

6. Edge defeated Jeff Hardy by DQ. C.M. Punk was on commentary for the match. Hardy worked on Edge's shoulder, while Edge worked on Hardy's leg. Edge tossed Hardy into Punk, who went after Edge causing the DQ. All three brawled after the bell until Punk hit the GTS on Edge and Hardy.

Dark Match

1. Jeff Hardy and C.M. Punk beat Edge and Chris Jericho in a cage match. Very weak cage! When they ran into it, the cage split in half! It took less than five minutes for the ring crew to hook up, though.
