TNA Champion Mick Foley discusses his Sacrifice pay-per-view match and the sore back he's had since the show
May 31, 2009 - 11:20 AM

Mick Foley commented on his Sacrifice match in his latest Myspace blog. "I was very happy with the match at 'Sacrifice,' even if my back has been feeling the effects of that Angle Slam on the concrete for the past five days,' Foley wrote. Quite possibly, this is Mother Nature's way of telling me that 44 years + 300 pounds + concrete is not a winning equation.

"Looking at the match on television, I saw a number of places where I could improve, most notably in my conditioning. Probably need to drop another 20 big ones if I want to live up to what fans expect from their main event wrestlers. To read the full blog, visit Mick's Myspace Page.

Powell's POV: There's no denying that Foley is working hard to deliver good matches. However, there's no way that dropping 20 lbs. can erase the wear and tear his body has absorbed over the years to the point that he can deliver truly memorable main events. That said, the TNA main event picture is filled with aging veterans, so it's not like Foley is completely out of place as the champion. That's not a shot at TNA, it's simply reality.
