Former WWE wrestler Colin Delaney comments on being released by WWE just months after signing a three-year deal
May 29, 2009 - 01:53 PM

Former WWE wrestler Colin Delaney told Alex Marvez of Scripps News that he has no hard feelings over being released just months into a three-year contract. "I was really surprised and everyone one (in WWE) that I talked to was also," Delaney said.

"Everything seemed to be going well, but once budget cuts came around, I was the lowest man on the totem pole. I don't take it personally. WWE has cut 50 or 60 guys and probably a lot more to come. It's not just me." To read the full interview, visit ScrippsNews.com.

Powell's POV: The story notes that Delaney won only one singles match the entire time he worked for WWE. I was surprised when WWE released Delaney because he was a fun novelty act. To his credit, he's been a professional and had nothing but good things to say about the company publicly since he was released.
