Dot Net WWE News - Jeff Hardy and WWE contract talk update
May 28, 2009 - 01:48 PM

Multiple sources within WWE are under the impression that Jeff Hardy has not signed a new contract. Matt Hardy posted a blog last week in which he seemed to be hinting that Jeff had struck a deal, but he never said so directly and later wrote that he enjoys getting a rise out of wrestling websites.

One source noted that it's possible Jeff will agree to a short-term extension that would keep him working for the company temporarily until some of the other main eventers return to the ring, but that was simply speculation and I haven't spoken with anyone who is under the impression that Jeff has signed a long-term deal.

Powell's POV: A well-placed source who initially believed Jeff would re-sign with the company now predicts that he will end up taking time away. There is said to be no animosity between Jeff and the company regarding pay issues. Rather, it sounds like Jeff simply wants to take time off. The feeling is that he will eventually return to WWE once his break concludes. As I previously reported, he has been telling friends that he is working on an MTV-style reality show project.
