Dot Net WWE News: Does Vince McMahon realize how lousy Raw has been lately? Plus, how the absence of Triple H and Shawn Michaels appears to be affecting the Raw product
May 27, 2009 - 05:00 PM

Heading into Monday's WWE Raw, the feeling of Vince McMahon and the WWE Raw creative team is that the show has been strong. Vince wants there to be differences between his various television shows, and one source found the silver lining in this by pointing out that Smackdown may not be as wrestling-heavy if Raw wasn't the sports entertainment variety show.

Powell's POV: I spoke to a source since this story was posted yesterday and was told that Vince was pleased with Monday's broadcast. He essentially dictated the direction of the show to the creative team, so much of it came straight from him.

As I noted months ago, Triple H and Shawn Michaels have been credited by some colleagues for weeding out some of the campy comedy that Vince and his writers favor during the production meetings. Hunter has been at the recent Raw shows, but one observer noted that Hunter isn't as emotionally attached to the product when he's not wrestling. In other words, he might be saving his objections for when he returns to television.

Dot Net members received the first look at this news yesterday. They are currently reading an update on the Jeff Hardy contract situation, and listening to a nearly 60-minute Q&A audio in which Jason Powell answers their wrestling questions.
