Dot Net Exclusive: Floyd Mayweather and Big Show update, hilarious rumor floating around
Mar 12, 2008 - 03:32 PM

Floyd Mayweather and Big Show were scheduled to meet with Vince McMahon on Tuesday to go over plans for their match at WrestleMania 24. The story Show has been telling mainstream media members about not knowing what type of match they are having may be true, as he has made similar statements to fellow wrestlers.

In related news, there are some wild stories going around in WWE circles about Mayweather’s cockiness. One of the more humorous stories is that Floyd told Vince that he “doesn’t know how to do pay-per-views,” but added that he’d be happy to teach him. However, sources warn that there is plenty of misinformation being floated regarding this story line, so take that one with a grain of salt.

Powell’s POV: It’s always possible that Show and Mayweather know what the match stipulation is going to be and Show has been instructed to claim otherwise even to his friends. Mayweather has been training and he is slated to take some bumps, particularly a chokeslam, at WrestleMania.

I don’t take Floyd's alleged pay-per-view comment seriously. Despite his flashiness on camera, Mayweather has been described by numerous sources as a professional businessman when the cameras aren't rolling. Furthermore, boxing pay-per-views generally suck aside from the main event. I suppose he could have been referring to promoting pay-per-views since Floyd is obviously very good in that regard, but I'd be surprised if he actually made that statement. That said, can you even imagine what the look on Vince's face would be if Floyd or anyone else made such a comment?

Yes. Big things tend to happen when Vince is on the show.
No. Advertising Vince won't change my viewing habits.
I'm actually less likely to watch the show because Vince is advertised.
