Dot Net Exclusive: Tempers flared between WWE wrestlers and Floyd Mayweather’s posse
Mar 12, 2008 - 11:39 AM

Members of Floyd Mayweather’s posse used the scripted shoving match on Raw to prove themselves to WWE wrestlers. “His guys were very anxious to demonstrate their prowess,” noted one observer. One ringside observer reported seeing a member of Mayweather's posse shove Shane McMahon and Chuck Palumbo to the ground, while a second source said he believes Shane may have inadvertently hit the deck after getting caught up in the melee. The camera shot during Raw showed Shane on the ground, but did not catch what caused his fall.

Powell’s POV: Although some of the wrestlers were upset afterward, an industry source told me that it would be shocking if there was any form of retaliation from WWE wrestlers. The wrestlers might not be happy about the way things went down, but they also realize that WWE is getting a lot of mainstream publicity out of the angle and any outbursts would not sit well with Vince McMahon.
