WWE legacy plays his final college football game, draft stock drops after returning to college for his senior season
Jan 5, 2009 - 11:17 PM |
James Laurinaitis played his final college game as a linebacker for the University of Ohio State on Monday night. The Buckeyes lost the Fiesta Bowl to Texas by a score of 24-21. Laurinaitis passed on a chance to enter the NFL Draft last season to return for his senior year. Most draft experts feel that his stock has dropped since then. He was widely regarded as a top 10 pick at this time last year, but most draft experts are now calling him a mid to late first round-pick.
Powell's POV: Why all the college football talk on Dot Net? James is the son of Road Warrior Animal and the nephew of WWE Sr. Vice President John Laurinaitis. Look for his name to pop up in the news in the weeks leading up to the NFL Draft in April. As for his draft stock dropping, I respect him for going back to school and finishing his career with the Buckeyes, and I'm sure he'll still make a fortune in the NFL.
