WWE files cease and desist against Hulk Hogan Celebrity Championship Wrestling trainer
Nov 23, 2008 - 12:26 PM |
WWE has filed a cease and desist order against Ed Leslie over the Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake name, according to TMZ.com. The story notes that Leslie's lawyers claim he's been using the name since 2000 without any objection from WWE. To read the full story, visit TMZ.com. [Thanks to Dot Net member Zachary Heath]
Powell's POV: I was surprised to see Leslie use his WWE name on Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling, but I assumed WWE let the trademark expire. Obviously, that's not the case. WWE may have looked the other way when Leslie used the name on the indy scene, but they are cracking down on him for using the name on CMT show.
