WWE Raw onsite report: A report of the show from New York fettering the best parts of the show and why the crowd chanted “circumcision” during the Xavier Woods match

11/25 WWE Raw onsite report
Report submitted by Dot Net reader Jeebz.

I attended Raw Monday Night at Nassau Coliseum as I figured it being a post-PPV show, it was going to be good. I had floor seats behind the announcers and It was the first time I've attended Raw since going to the 3 hour format. It was a packed house and there weren't really any sections tarped off.

The opening segment with Cena/Orton/HHH/Steph was good and the crowd was into it. Lots of boos for Cena and multiple "Daniel Bryan" and "We want Bryan" chants started breaking out at this point. The idea of making one champion was cool and the crowd liked it.

When they announced the 6 man tag, people knew right away this was going to be good. The Shield, Cody, Goldust, & Rey Mysterio all got cheered big during their entrances. Each time Reigns hit a spear, the crowd went nuts. The guy is becoming a huge hit. The match was amazing and all six of these men are incredibly over with the crowd.

The Miz/Titus/Strahan segment was a major head scratcher. No one knew whether or not to cheer or boo the Miz and Titus. Multiple "Turn the Channel" chants broke out. You can tell the crowd began to grow restless as Strahan was attempting a hip toss. Titus drew some laughs but outside of that, the segment fell flat.

The tag team match was next and the "Goldberg" chants were in full effect. Mark Henry is a beast in person and was really over with the crowd. It was a short match, but it did it's job and wasn't nearly as bad as the previous segment.

The Divas match was another throwaway match featuring these women. I'm convinced at this point people absolutely hate Eva Marie and she knows it. AJ was way over with this crowd and most of the crowd booed when she was eliminated.

The crowd was nearly dead after the "hardcore" match but absolutely came alive for CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Outside of Cena, these guys are completely over with the crowd and it's not even close to anyone else. Anytime there was a chance to say "YES", the crowd rolled with it. Punk going on a tag team rant was fantastic. The Wyatt's interrupted and I don't know how it came off on TV, but their music briefly got cut off as they were coming down to the ring and then started up again. A rare music mess up by WWE. The match itself between these two teams was awesome and no one saw the post match spear coming from Reigns.

Honestly, the show could have ended there and it would have sent the fans home on a more interesting note. However, the next few matches, followed by what felt like an insanely long break for backstage promos, killed the crowd again. This show had gotten so bad to the point where the entire row of wrestling fans in front of me literally got up and left before the main event. At one point, I got up to go to the bathroom and had to wake up the the couple at the end of my row so I didn't step on their feet while they slept. Yes, it was that bad.

Before the Woods/Slater match, Jerry Lawler interviewed a contest winner at ringside about a wrestler the guy had created. Lawler asked for the name of the created wrestler. The man responded "The Kosher Butcher" and said his finishing move was called the "Circumcision". The crowd cheered for this guy and Lawler laughed and congratulated him. During Woods/Slater match, the crowd grew so bored, they started what has to be the most ridiculous chant ever with "Cir-cum-cision". I'm not sure how it came across on TV but it was loud as hell. It went with the theme of the night of how restless the crowd grew as the show dragged on that they looked for anything to cheer for.

The main event was alright and I'm always amazed at how over Cena is with the crowd, whether you love him or hate him. The crowd seemed confused as to what was going on with the Big Show and it dragged out, causing more people to get up and walk out of the arena. When the cameras went off, Cena laid in the ring with the refs and medical staff. He told the one of the refs something and the ref ran up the entrance to tell Orton. Orton looked pissed and ran back in the ring to perform his punt kick but Cena got up and dodged it. He threw Orton on his shoulders but Orton dodged that as well and left the ring. Cena posed with the belt to send the crowd home happy.

Overall, this show was not good at all. Outside of the great six man tag and anything involving Punk/Bryan/Wyatts, there was nothing that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. Sure, the idea of unifying the titles and making just one champion had made the crowd cheer but no one seemed to care about anything else that was going on. The three hour format is way too long and should honestly be used for PPVs only. I can hope the next show I attend in the future is better, as they can't possibly do any worse than what I saw live in Nassau on Monday night.
