WWE News: Jim Ross talks "retirement" with Steve Austin, expects Undertaker to work at WrestleMania 30
Sep 24, 2013 - 02:00 PM

Jim Ross appeared on fellow WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin's "The Steve Austin Show" podcast. "I'm not going to go out and buy a rocking chair because I don't want to be sitting on a chair on the porch rocking and watching the world go by," Ross said. "I like to say that 61 is the new 41. I'm feeling good, I'm healthy, I want to be doing some other things without question, so I'm not going to go away, I'm just not going to be in WWE any longer."

Ross was also asked whether he has any regrets about his run. "I think if I had to narrowcast it down to is there one thing that you would love to do in WWE, it would be to call The Undertaker's last match, whenever that is," he said.

Austin asked Ross if Taker is going to have another match. "I'm assuming so," Ross replied. "I haven't heard anything to the contrary. If he has another match at WrestleMania, on my bucket list of things I would love to do to bring everything full circle, it would be to be a part of that broadcast because I think The Streak is about as big a part of WrestleMania right now in today's marketplace as anything they could book." You can listen to the show at Podcastone.com.

Powell's POV: Ross noted on his Twitter page that this was actually the first interview he did after his retirement from WWE was announced even though it didn't run until today. Ross and Austin also spoke about the changes from simply calling the matches in the past to being produced through the headsets today, and much more during the one-hour interview. Ross's previous appearances on the show made for a great listen and what I've heard of the new one thus far is no exception.
