WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross comments on Paul Heyman, The Wyatt Family, and Goldust vs. Randy Orton
Sep 11, 2013 - 09:42 AM

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights. To order J.R.'s BBQ products, visit WWEShop.com.

-Ross on Paul Heyman: "Paul Heyman feigning a knee injury was funny. Reminded me of an old time promoter who pulled that stunt in grocery stores to score paydays back in early 70's. Punk's act of caning was timely and memorable."

Powell's POV: Heyman was a riot and the segment drew good heat. I just feel for the poor learned doctor, who should now hire a good lawyer for the kendo stick beatdown he took from the Punk character.

-Ross on The Wyatt Family: "Anxious to see what the eventual destination will be for Bray Wyatt & Family. Remember, big men with a second gear are special. Was actually surprised to see Wyatt vs Ziggler on Raw for some reason."

Powell's POV: I'm still not sure why we saw Ziggler vs. Wyatt out of nowhere, but I did enjoy the match. The Wyatt Family continues to be entertaining and I am starting to get anxious to see where they go next as well.

-Ross on Randy Orton vs. Goldust: "Great build up for Goldust vs. Orton. The match was a good one too with the last five minutes hitting another level with all the near falls. Enjoyed the pace of Goldust vs Orton too. Far too many talents in the biz wrestle too fast more often than not & if the audience doesn't have the time to process and feel what they are seeing, then who wins?"

Powell's POV: I would really like to see Goldust get one more run with WWE and perhaps an eventual WrestleMania match against his brother Cody. The makeup combined with Dustin Rhodes's improved physical condition make the character seem ageless. I'm not big on comedic stuttering Goldust, but I like when the character has an edge to it and I think he would be a good veteran presence on the young roster.

Other topics include Big Show, Antonio Cesaro, Jerry Lawler's attire, Oklahoma Sooners football, and more.
