Dot Net Exclusive: Carlito’s current push and what his plans were when he wanted out of WWE last year
Feb 28, 2008 - 09:47 AM

Carlito is still paying the price for threatening to leave the company last year. He went so far as to ask to be released from his contract, but he agreed to stay after a December meeting with Vince McMahon. The general feeling is that WWE officials are still punishing him by not giving him a push. However, the assumption of industry sources is that he’ll be in line for something bigger once they feel he’s been humbled.

Powell’s POV: Before meeting with Vince, Carlito told friends that he intended to jump to TNA. I think that was the assumption of most people, but multiple sources have now confirmed it. None of the sources I spoke with know whether he was serious enough about leaving to have spoken with TNA management, but they were definitely on his radar. Some of friends advised him against making the jump and the meeting with Vince went well enough that he opted to stick around.
