He went so far as to ask to be released from his contract, but he agreed to stay after a December meeting with Vince McMahon. The general feeling is that WWE officials are still punishing him by not giving him a push. However, the assumption of industry sources is that he’ll be in line for something bigger once they feel he’s been humbled. Powell’s POV: Before meeting with Vince, Carlito told friends that he intended to jump to TNA. I think that was the assumption of most people, but multiple sources have now confirmed it. None of the sources I spoke with know whether he was serious enough about leaving to have spoken with TNA management, but they were definitely on his radar.
