He was also an amazing wrestler who started from nothing...perhaps less than nothing to go on and become a huge star. Pat and Ray Stevens were arguably the best tag team ever according to many historians. Pat will always have his detractors because he rose to a position of administration in the business for which some wrestlers have taken issue with, plus the fact that Pat is gay which should mean anything to any one who is sane and not an idiot. Powell's POV: Patterson has a hell of a story. In addition to everything he accomplished in the wrestling business, the fact that he did it without hiding his sexual preference is amazing.
