Jim Ross comments on a phone call he received from Ric Flair, and Ultimate Warrior's ex-wife writing a tell-all book
Oct 9, 2008 - 06:17 PM

Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on a phone call he received from Ric Flair: "The 'Naitch' called yours truly today from L.A. He sounded great and was, surprise, staying REALLY busy. He wanted to wish the Sooners good luck this Saturday against the 'Horns. Ric sounded refreshed and happy and truly excited about some upcoming projects that he could not elaborate on at the moment but one could tell he was jacked about the future. I wish my dear friend nothing but the very best and hope that all his ventures are 'hits.' It sounds as if a MAJOR announcement will be forthcoming from Flair's 'people.'

Powell's POV: Is that J.R.'s way of requesting a Flair Business Venture Hitlist? Yeah, I didn't think so. Nice to hear Naitch is keeping in touch with J.R. after not talking to him for a bit following his WWE departure.

-Ross on Ultimate Warrior's ex-wife shopping around a tell-all book: "I read of the proposed 'tell-all' book about 'The Warrior' to be written by his ex-wife. Sounds juicy and sensational based on the press release that I read. I doubt that 'The Warrior' and yours truly will ever exchange Xmas cards but I don't feel good about this project as I am not a die hard fan of 'tell all's' that love to dish the dirt... Even if the book is embellished to a degree some readers will believe every word of it..."

Powell's POV: I guess it also works the other way since someone close to someone famous could write a truthful tell-all book and there would be just as many skeptics who wouldn't believe a word of it due to the precedent that has been set by others. That being said, I am generally skeptical of the tell-all's. It gets no better when you confront a tell-all writer with the obvious questions and they get pissed at you. Long story.

Other topics include more on the Warrior book, Kimbo Slice, Gina Carano, and a frustrating conversation he overheard between some younger wrestlers.
