The John Cena interview that was posted by the UK Sun earlier today was conducted either late last year or in January because he alluded to rehabbing his arm and said he probably wouldn’t be able to wrestle at WrestleMania, which is obviously not the case.

Powell’s POV: The date the interview was conducted doesn’t change Cena’s critical comments on The Rock, but it does spoil my speculation that the timing of his commentary is suspicious in that it came a day after Rock announced that he would appear at the Hall of Fame. I went back and tweaked my blog based on this information. For what it’s worth, this is the first time I’ve heard the interview and the comments are generating plenty of buzz on pro wrestling websites, so this is likely the first time the interview has been released on a major website.
