Jim Ross reveals the announcers breakdown for WWE No Mercy (and it's not good), comments on Ken Shamrock's big fight, and announces a big ESPN appearance
Oct 3, 2008 - 11:00 AM

Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights.

-Ross on the announcer breakdown for No Mercy: "Tazz and I have two bouts to broadcast Sunday in the Rose Garden which is one more than ECW's Todd Grisham and Matt Striker."

Powell's POV: That means four matches will be called by Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler. Ugh.

-Ross on Ken Shamrock's fight on Saturday night: "I'm pulling for Ken Shamrock on Saturday night on CBS against hard hitting Kimbo Slice but Kenny's best chance of winning is to take Kimbo down quickly and avoid Slice's bombs. Shamrock taking too many hard shots really concerns me and to think that this might be the fight that ends Ken Shamrock's storied career isn't the way I would have preferred to see Ken exit a sport he helped pioneer. Sadly, if Shamrock does win another promoter will convince Ken to fight 'one more time' for another payday no matter the collateral damage the fight may inflict on 'The World's Most Dangerous Man.'"

Powell's POV: I listened to Shamrock's appearance on Jim Rome's radio show yesterday and he made it very clear that he still wants to fight his brother Frank Shamrock.

-Ross on his upcoming ESPN appearance: "It was confirmed a few hours ago that next Friday October 10, the day before the Oklahoma-Texas Red River Shootout that I will be a guest on ESPN's College Football Live. Obviously, I will be discussing the Sooners vs. the Longhorns game the next day. I hope you check it out and I'll have more info for you next week."

Powell's POV: I'd like to take this time to let the producers know that I'll be happy to make an appearance to discuss Minnesota's college-level football game between the Vikings and Lions that weekend. I'm beginning to wonder whether OU or Texas could take my beloved Vikings.

Other topics include Terry Funk wrestling this weekend, the vice presidential debate, and the amount of talking that takes place in pro wrestling today.
