John Cena criticizes Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for not wrestling, yet acting like he still loves the business
Feb 26, 2008 - 01:31 PM

John Cena questioned why The Rock couldn’t come back to WWE if he loves it as much as he says he does. “What I get peeved about, and this is my whole Achilles heel, is that I’ve wanted to do this my whole life,” Cena told the UK Sun. “Rock falls into that category. At one point he loved wrestling and wanted to do this all his life. So explain to me why he can’t come back.

“Simply put it’s because he wants to be an actor and there’s nothing wrong with that,” continued Cena. “He’s very good and very successful. Associating with sports entertainment doesn’t do much for his acting career. I get it. Just don’t f--- me around and tell me that you love this. That’s the only thing that gets me really pissed off.” To read the full story and check out a webcast with Cena’s comments, visit UK Sun.

Powell’s POV: There’s some truth in what Cena is saying and it would be nice if Johnson would come out and explain why he no longer makes in-ring appearances. Yet it’s hard to blame Rock for distancing himself from WWE for the good of his acting career. Furthermore, Rock is coming back for the WWE Hall of Fame induction, so it’s not like he’s hiding from his past. I can only assume that The Rock is high on Cena’s wish list for possible WrestleMania opponents.
